What's reasonable for over invoice?
First post here, there's a wealth of information on this site.
Most everything I read on the sites pertain to leases, does anyone buy cars any longer, or am I missing out on something? I'm looking at ordering an 09 335i coupe with: Metallic Paint Premium Package M-Sport Package Cold Weather Package Navigation Comfort Access iPod Adaptor With destination, MACO, and training fees, I'm looking at an invoice price of around $49,720. First does this sound right? I don't have an exact M-Sport package invoice price, so I'm using $3,200, which may be high. Second, if I'm offering $500 over invoice, that puts a total of $50,320. Does that sound reasonable as well? I've read others are getting $200-300 over invoice, maybe even under invoice, but I'm sure those are with incentives and probably leases as well, eh? I'm wanting to do a PCD, I'm figuring I can order from just about any dealer via internet if my local dealer isn't willing to do the deal, correct? Thanks for the help. The time to do the order is getting close, especially if I'm looking at a July PCD. |

Go to Edmunds.com - that will show you invoice, MSRP and true market value for the car you are looking at. I paid $300 over invoice a year ago. In this market, you may be able to do even better. good luck

Thanks guys for the tip.
I'll take a look at Edmunds, I've gotten one response on a quote, right at $1000 over. I may have to look into an ED, I just didn't want to go over to Germany this summer, I'm more inclined to do a PCD. |

I thought only 2009 3 Series SEDANS had the M-Sports package in the U.S.? I can't find that option for any of the coupes on Edmonds.com or BMWUSA.com. Anyways it depends on where you live. Over here (Bay Area, CA) the dealers are outright telling you that you can buy it AT invoice (yes it matches Edmunds INVOICE price). I eventually got mine below invoice, but I custom ordered it and put in a 20% deposit.
