any one know RFT Patching from inside- update Bad news

I got a slow leak front right tire, i am adding air to it about every 4-5 days. Looks like the leak is in the middle of the tire. some kind of 2-3 mm eidth nail. I have about 26000 miles on it.

Any place in OC or near Chino Hills that would patch it from the inside?

If no one knows of any shops then, to replace the tire, should i replace both fronts or just the leaky one. In the past non RFT tire i always replace in pairs.

hey Long do you patch tires? you are the BMW wonder!

I'm sure you'll be able to find any shop to patch the hole from the inside. If you were to replace the tire however I would recommend replacing in pairs so that you have even wear on both sides and the car doesn't have to work as hard.

Ok just back and bad news. The tire is separating from the inside the tire near the side wall on the inside. there is a one inch tear that i can see. Could this be a manufactures defect or from tread wear? I got 26000 miles on them.

the size is 225/35/19 on VM CSL
theses photo show the separation area , opposite of the area the treads a even across

That's due to tread wear. That tire is toast. Buy a new tire, and get a good alignment.

Look at how worn it is on the inside edge. That's tire wear.

that looks more like damage from running the tire flat or near to flat. how long have u been driving with having to refill the tire every few days?

when a runflat is low on air pressure, the tire is supported by the sidewall. eventually the spot where the tread meets the sidewall fails.

not a manufacturers tire defect though. this is why you cant drive on a runflat with a puncture if you want it to be repairable.

Looks like the tear could be from excessive weight. Are the 225/35/19's XL rated?

We've seen problems with other customers running a 225/35/19 non XL due to the weight of the car. I generally recommend 235/35/19 XL loaded tires for E90-E92's.
