Engine Malfunction light on!

does anyone know that what could it be happen??i drove my car today to school, and during that my engine malfunction light has came on, but i don't feel anything is wrong when i drive!!anyone can tell me what usually happens if the check engine light on??will it be one of the sensor failure or anything??

did the code come back when u restart the car? If it doesn't then probably nothing to worry about. If it come back again just take it to dealer

yes..it is still on, and i brought back this morning, they said not a big problem, and he said it seems everything is fine...maybe one of the sensor failure, i will go back to dealer this afternoon, hope nothing serious!!!

hahaha u went to BJ bmw and they said it was fine ?
did they even plug in GT1 or obd2 reader?

when u going keith? i may drop by too

a bt cable is good when u are planning on keepin the car after the warranty. lets invest on 1 lol

i didn't go BJ, i go Parkshore...and they told me to come back this afternoon, since they were so busy!!!

i went to parkshore, and got the car back, they said it was the intake filter oil problem, they didn't fix it right away, but they said it's still safe to drive, so i will bring it in again on monday!

something about intake, cause they checked everywhere and even showed me othe parts of the engine has no problem at all!!

i am sure its just a sensor thing, i have same problem with my brake sensors telling me to replace my pads every 3,000 kms, haha

yes, that's what i m thinking too, cause they said if my engine has a huge problem, i should feel it, and they tested drive my car too, they didn't feel anything is wrong..they did a bunch of test on it, seems no problem, so they said it might be a sensor around the intake or anywhere or even maybe my filter of my intake needs to be replaced, i have to check with them on monday, since i asked them 3 times if my car is still safe to drive, and they told me that is absolutely no problem to drive, and i can drive it anywhere, then i will keep drive it for now..haha

the light turned off tonite when i started my car, and i drove for 15 mins..never came on again!!weird!

intake filter oil? you're talking about the oil (ie. K&N fiilter charger kit) you spray onto the intake filter charger on your CAI after you clean it right?

ironically, few days ago after cleaning the K&N intake filter of the CAI on my lexus, the CEL came on as well. my mechanic told me i sprayed too much oil onto the filter and somehow my MAF sensor was throwing off the CEL. he took the MAF out, cleaned it, CEL went away after 3 cold starts.
