Chipped/ Cracked Windshild

So I was driving on the 91 yesterday (for those who live in socal) and it was really windy. Then out of no where, a rock hit my windshield and chipped it. I've heard that if you don't get a chip repaired ASAP it could get worse?? So I was wondering, if any of you guys who live in the OC could recommend me a place that I could go to or a company that could show up to your house to fix it. Also what is a ball park range that I should be looking at, so I won't get ripped off?

I've attached some pics:

The problem is however, is that the chip or impact looks worse form the inside than from the outside, but things like this happen.

Thanks

Does the bullseye crack go all the way through the windshield? If not, you can try to repair it youself. I've used Fix-A-Windshield before and it works pretty good. Basically, it's a resin that fills the hole and seals it. When the resin dries, you can barely, and I mean barely, see the original crack. This product works better/worse depending on the crack but for $14, I'd give it a shot first before spending a few hundred bucks on a new windshield.

Make sure you follow the directions exactly, especially the part of letting the resin cure under the sunlight. I filled my windshield crack about 2 years ago and it's still good.

Luckily, the bullseye does not go through. However, the the inside looks works like some kind of ripple effect, than the outside does. How does this Fix-A-windshield stuff work compared to having a windshield specialist fill it in themselves?

Not sure on what the cost would be to get fixed but make sure to check your insurance policy. Possibly your covered for windshield damage if you plan on having someone do the work for you.

If not covered by insurance, then about 40-60 bucks and they come to your car.

most windshield cracks, chips, and knicks are covered by your insurance. On my Acura, I had three little knicks fixed for free. I had four knicks but the insurance wanted to replace the windshield if I wanted the 4th knick fixed so I settled for 3. check with your insurance company.
