CPO=good?

This question was probably asked for many times, but can someone tell me if BMW re-tune their engine when making it CPO? What if the engine was beat up by the previous owner? Any infos would be helpful!

During a cpo inspection, we fix whatever needs fixing. If there's a leak, we fix it. If the brakes are worn out, we replace them.
What do you mean "retune"?

If there is anything minor wrong to it, yes. The thing is, they promise the car to be in better than used condition, like a refurbished electronic gizmo.

I understand they will fix the cosmetic of the car, I am more worried about getting a CPO car that's been beaten.

Cool, SoCalTech: can you explain the downside of a beat-up bmw engine? like: noisier? slower? shorter life time? Sorry I am very new when it comes to engine. TIA!

If you drive the car, and it feels fine, then don't worry about it. Plus, if something does develop later, you're covered for 6yrs, 100k miles.
