RFTs are OUT, Sumis are IN
Last night finally got the time to replace my snow wheels with summers with newly mounted Sumitomo HTRZ III tires replacing our beloved RE050A RFTs.
I was missing the steering feel of my E46 and thought that the somewhat floaty feel of the E9x was due to the new suspension design. It wasn't. The car feel like it should now. Nice and smooth in a straight line, with more resistance in the steering wheel as you attempts to turn it. The tires aren't fully broken in yet so I will update this thread in 600 miles but the grips difference is already noticeable. Good buy Bridgestone... you will be missed.... NOT

The HTR ZIIIs are a good tire at first, but their performance/quality drops off quick imo.
They have soft sidewalls, so that might be a good or bad thing, depending on your intended use for them. I switched from HTR ZIIIs to Federal 595RSRs, and I've liked them so far They were actually cheaper too! -Don |
