Would you replace this front tire?
Outside edge of this tire is very worn, but no threads are showing. Would you replace this tire or try to get a few more miles out of it?

Without a doubt. That would be gone by tomorrow morning. But I'm a Nazi on tires.

You could probably get couple hundred miles out of those. I'm fairly certain you need to get an alignment as I see a lot of toe wear. Be sure to do this after you buy your new set of tires. It's wearing a lot on the outside edge of the tire. Unless you had your tires rotated/flipped that is a sign of significant toe wear.

My fronts looked worse than that on the outer edge at 12K miles, but that was caused by 2 autocrosses... I had more tread left than you in the middle though...
My biggest problem was horrible tramlining where the car would pull very hard to the left or right with the slighest imperfection in the road... I'd say replace soon for this reason and what everybody else has said |

I had the same thing, due to a Control Clinic class. I used them for a while, but it doesn't rain much here in the summer (San Jose). So, in Kansas, I would caution on the safe side and change it soon. Tires and brakes are most important safety item on the car (i.e. stopping and going where you want to).

How many miles on this car, or rather on these tires?

Thanks everyone for the good advice. These tires have 22 K on them. The car did tramline like crazy when I was driving it back from Colorado on the highways that were really worn. Most of the miles were put on the car in Colorado--I wonder if highways with tire grooves could cause this type of wear pattern on the outside edge?
I've decided to replace the fronts with oem rft's, and get a full alignment done at the same time. |

I'd toss them; i don't gamble when it comes to safety. I'd hate to see that Bimmer wrecked.
Remember there are some idiot drivers out there... My wife double parked her XC90 today and some desperated Bitch went around and gave the Volvo a custom pin stripe. Luckily she came out in time to get the plates and stop her before she did more; the crazy lady was going to keep going.
