Best body shop in San Diego??
I had a horrible Saturday. I was backing out of a dept store parking lot when some guy with a clunky SUV rammed into the hind quarter panel of my 330i.  Anyone know of a good body shop in San Diego... I want the car restored to the pristine condition it was in prior to this...
I'm thinking Amato's but they're backed up... BMWSD is referring me to Mercedes Benz of SD. If anyone has experience with them or have other suggestions. please lemme know. thx in advance.

try Phil Thearle's Autowerks in Santee, 619.449.0111. This is a superior quality shop dealing mainly with BMWs, and Cunningham BMW sends all their cars requiring bodywork to them.

well after a quick deliberation i decided to go with Mercedes of San Diego. I'm writing this though to pass on a word to the wise.
my little accident on the quarter panel just below the gas cap will require a replacement. that means undoing the factory welds on the old one which extends all the way to the front windshield. The procedure requires the removal of the back seats, the two doors on that side, the chrome lining above the doors, any plastic molding, requires the engine to be lifted etc... quite frankly i'm nervous about all this work, which will require something like 60 hours of labor. son of a biaaatch!!!  Needless to say, driving around...errr lugging around in a chevy around town, has made me appreciate my car even more.
