Germany

I figured this would be easy to find but I couldn't find anything in the search....I was just wondering how much you save from buying a 335i in germany rather then buying it in the US? THANKS

you mean actually going to germany, buying the car, then importing it back to the US (not sure if that would even work)? or do you mean euro delivery?

base price for 335i sedan in germany is 42,300 euro, which is about $56.7k USD. i believe the US has the lowest priced BMWs in the world. if you're talking about euro delivery, i think you save about a couple thousand off the car.

Euro delivery i guess. I just remember a guy I know said he went there to get it because he would save like $3,000 just going there to order it or something?

you order it at your local dealer. you fly over to pick it up, drive around in europe for a few days, then drop it off. it gets shipped back to your local dealer in a few weeks. something about import taxes being lower since it would be considered a "used" vehicle, so thats where the savings comes from.

Everything you want to know an more you can find on the wiki page over at Bimmerfest.com in the European Delivery Sub-board.

Depending on the exchange rate/flights, you may not save any money. In general it is structured so that you are going to Germany to pick-up your car and experience the Welt and the German Autobahn and it pays for a nice vacation for two for the money you do save.

There are some that go there for literally the weekend, pick their car, and flight back home without ever going further than the Welt and the hotel.

You can do that to, but it is not worth it IMHO -- Going on Vacation in Germany is great! Great sites! Great food! Great Beer! and unless you are a smuck -- you will meet and create new friends.

I still Email some of the people I met on my ED.

If you are going to do European Delivery, make sure it is for the experience

Our car was about $2000 less than a similar deal at the dealership. If you were to go yourself, land, get the car, and drop it off, you'd be out another $500 or so for airfare. Figure you might spend one night, so $600 + food.

But then you have to wait 6-10 weeks (depending on where you are once it gets to port) for the car to make it back. And you make payments in the mean time with nothing to show for it.

Me, I'll never buy a car the old way as opposed to going on Euro Delivery. But that's because I spent two weeks in Europe after picking up the car. I didn't save money but I got a discounted vacation out of the deal! I don't know if I would do it just for the $1000 savings. The wait to get my car back wasn't worth it!

You should find the price differences between BMWNA and eurodelivery on the BMW website.
