Nurburgring Nordschleife first trip of the year with my 335i
Its been about 6 months since the last time was at the Nurburgring. First time the car was pretty stock, second time i went with new wheels and Nitto Invo tire. The Ring brought out the many weaknesses of the 335, suspension and power wise, and also my driving. Since then i had the modding sickness. I went with upping the power of my 335, installing RR catted downpipes, RennArt exhaust, AFE intake, Forge DV, and the best bang for the buck I think the JB3. Then recently installing KW V2 and getting the car corner balanced. At the track i was running Map 6 with the JB3 which gave the car great responsiveness and the power to pull through the turns. The KW V2 made driving the Ring easier then before, the car has less body roll, most of the understeer is gone and traction was greatly improved. The Nitto Invo's can get really sticky once they get heated up, I'd say they are pretty close to Pilot PS2's. My next mod is UUC sway bars.
A friend of mine that went has a 08 E92 M3 MDCT which i gave him a ride with in my car and he said he thinks the car actually pulls harder then his, but i know I'm probably never going to beat the M3 in the turns, not yet anyway. Coming out the toll booth and accelerating through the start point i put him in his seat pretty hard which i think really suprised him. I read all the post of all the modding others do similar to mine, but some of them will never know the true results of the hard earned money they spent. Driving the Nordschleife is amazing, nothing like it I am sure, and I think the only true way of calling a BMW "The Ultimate Driving Machine". Everyone talks about 1/4 drag racing, which I love to do also. But if your a true auto enthusist, try auto crossing or tracking your car and you'll see what your car can do. Anyway heres the pics and a Video Nordschleife Packing lot First lap, had to take the loop wide, chasing down a biker Chasing down a E30, this guy was pretty fast. Chasing a E46 M3 CSL through the double S's, thought this guy would be fast but i passed him after 2 more turns. Taking a ride in a friends M3 This is video of my M3 friend driving, he catches up to me about 3 minutes into the video, not sure what time he left after i did. I didnt notice him at first or that he was video taping or i would of gave him more of a fight. I know he is fast so i pulled to the right, braked and gave him the turn signal to pass. But the best run out of 4 i ran a 9:30, I know with more practice I can run much faster.

Awesome, looks like a lot of fun! And it's not far from where I live but I would probably crash my car in the first turn

amazing, want to do this myself soon. well done taking own car. How many laps did you do before the brakes started fading? Any issues after the run? how fast were you pushing? I know stopwatches not allowed but were you attacking for just fast on straghts? Looks pretty decent by pics. And nice with weather, how was temperatures like? Should still be chilly and slippy on summer tyres.
oh, and you didnt try the taxi with Sabine?
