Does trans fluid get changed at 1200mi service?

The reason I ask is because I got my trans replaced at 6000 miles, so will I have to bring the car back at 7200 miles to get the fluid changed?

You don't say whether you have DCT or 6MT. If the latter, I would presume it should be changed because the trans fluid does get changed on the 6MT 1200 mi. service. DCT does not.

It's a manual transmission. So the fluid does get changed during the 1200 mile service?

Yes, since you have a 6MT, your transmission fluid is on the list of items to get changed at the 1200 mile service.

Make sure you call around dealers. This one particular dealer (East bay BMW) told me that they "inspect" differential and tranny fluids. I said "inspect or replace?" and he told me inspect. Called the day later to speak with someone else and he too said they only inspect. So call dealers before making your appt.
Sounds like some dealers change as little as possible and bill BMWNA for the full bill.

My German service center (Rosch Maurer) informed me that the DCT oil would be changed when I scheduled the 2000 KM service today. I know that there were issues with this interval. Should he, or shouldn't he change the oil?

Thanks gents!

I was wondering if when you got it serviced they changed the DCT oil? Who was the dealer who performed it if they did. I want to make sure it gets changed after break in. Thanks

I have a US spec 6MT here in Germany, and did the fluid change at 1200 miles. I was under the impression that the DCT (as in the US) did not have a service interval. You may want to check with the dealer. Why spend the Euro (and potentially do harm by even replacing it) id the DCT should remain untouched?

Well I would rather have it changed out due to the metal shavings that will be present after initial break in. I would rather have it flushed and have new tranny oil and just don't do it again. Anyone with any thoughts on this??
