April Bimmer Babies
Anybody else with a completion date this month?
Let's race. Mine is in the paint shop as of yesterday, April 10. Completion date is April 15. Dealer says expected delivery is mid-May, but I doubt that here in Northern California. I think I will be lucky to drive it off the dealer lot before May ends. Who else is going to have their baby born in April? |

Mine finished production on Apr 2nd
According to the 800# still at the port. I hope that is behind and I made the Otello which left on the 10th.

I guess the port wait time is the big uncertainty, at both ends. While you know when it is in port, you don't know how many are there ahead of you and how many spaces were booked by BMW on that ship. If you get lucky, the car could arrive there and get the last space on a ship leaving in a day or two. If not, the ship could fill up and you have to wait for the next one. That is what is kinda interesting. Your April 2 completion date is about two weeks ahead of me, you should be out of port before mine is out of the factory. But we shall see...

I am in line too.
My new 335i (Monaco w/ Grey) completed production last week and arrived @ the port on the 9th.
Does anybody here know when the next ship heads out to the West Coast? Looking at the NYK (The line BMW uses for West Coast deliveries) web site I **think** there is a ship sailing on Monday the 13th. If we get on that ship then we might actually get our new babies mid may. |

Mine is awaiting transport as well on the BMW site. I called the 800 number and it says it is going to the port of exit. Not sure when it'll get on a boat.

Mine is supposed to be built this month according to my salesperson. Space Grey 328i xDrive sedan on Chestnut leather, Steptronic, Premium pkg, Navigation pkg, Logic 7, and 17" radial spoke wheels. They told me it should be here by mid to the end of May. Can't wait.

Mine is still in the paint shop. I think it has been there for a week. Maybe they used the slow drying paint.
Edit: It is April 15, the production date, and it is still in the paint shop. Last edited by Quasimodem; 04-15-2009 at 02:19 PM.. |

I am probably going to pull the trigger on a 335i in the next couple days....CA is saying 9 to 11 weeks till I would get it, which sounds like an exaggeration to me….. 6 to 8 is more like it correct?

When I had my car already the # still said that the car was in transit. The website was very accurate in the stages of production and delivery.

Status = "In Transit" Yay!
Called the 800 number this morning. Status changed to "In Transit."
Now comes the really long part. Waiting for the ship to get all the way to the west coast. Anyone know the name of the ship bringing the us West Coasters our babies? |

Looks like you are going to beat me. Maybe if I get lucky your ship will be diverted and come in too close to Somalia.... |

Okay, my car is finally at the preparation center.
I think that this means, at the very least, that it is here in LA, maybe even at my dealer. I do not want to bother my SA so I am going to wait until Tuesday to send him an email. It's been a long wait but I should take delivery next week. Anybody else in the US receive their 3-series produced in April? |

Less than 4 weeks from Germany to dealer? Damn... I think mine was done about 10 days earlier and is arriving on the West Coast at the dealer at about the same time.

Hah. My car is at my dealer, and I should be picking it up tomorrow May 24.
Looks like about five weeks from production to dealer on the West Coast. Will post pics. |

What a pleasant surprise! just when you least expected it. I think mine is still at the VPC as I won't get any updates until most likely Tuesday. We may wait and take delivery June 2nd in hopes of getting a better rate from BMW FS. We currently have the 3.9% with $1500 incentive.
