BBS CH Black edition questions

Hi volks,
As I check the BBS official site, I see the CH black edition has the rim protector under the "Know-how" section that tells you about the features of the rims. However, I asked the local BBS dealer in Hong Kong, and they told me that CH black edition doesn't have a rim protector.

I got 3 quetions here:
1. Who is true?
2. How does the rim protector work actually? BBS says it can be easily replaced.
3. Are all BBS made in Germany? How many factories do they have?

I tried to search these info, but didn't find much info about it.
Hope people not gonna tell me to search again. Appreciate for the inputs!

Pretty sure the "rim protector" is the unpainted silver edge. Not sure how that can be replaced tho? Not all BBS are made in Germany.....some are made in Japan (all forged I believe, someone correct me?)

I have them.....replaced the protecters 3 times (Damn tracks at the car wash). They are $50 bucks a piece and you can order them straight from BBS.

Very easy to replace...peel off the old one, clean off all the left over double sided tape on the wheel and then stick the new one on.

Was the rim underneath the protector painted black? I'd rather have solid black than the time-attack look.

Its a metal ring with a grove in it where double sided M3 tape is and it attaches to lip on the wheel.

It is unpainted but im not crazy about how it looks without the rim protector. If you want them all black I would paint the rim protectors.

So it technically can be added to any CH's? Is the protector silver?

I haven't taken a good look at silver CH's but I dont know that they have that small lip to where the protector attaches to, if they do then you def. could.
