Deals on new M3 - Australia

I'm from Melbourne and would love to buy a new E92 M3, and was wondering if anyone knows if any dealers are giving good deals. How much discount should I expect to get? Or are dealers basically giving list price only?

Hi Andrew,

I ordered mine in July 08, fully optioned for $185K on the road. This is with the M-DCT trans but with the 18" wheels as I plan to get a different set of after market 19" rims. There's not a lot of negotiating you can do on these cars if you want a brand new one (as I did), but I was able to get them to upgrade the sound system to the Individual High End Audio system for free. My car should be here in about 3 weeks (long wait as I specified an 09 manufactured car).

That said, I'm sure you can do a lot better on a demo or an existing car in a dealership, but you'll need to look for a while to find one that matches your exact specifications eg colour, trans, roof, wheels etc etc.

Have to agree with the above, your best bet is to ring around and see whats out there if your not too fussed on options.
On carpoint.com and websites similar etc. there seems to be some good deals on privately owned vehicles if your after an 08 model.
Mine was a little bit more that 185k and i took every option available with DCT of course. Had it six months (wow time flys) and hasn't missed a beat.

I got mine from BMW Sydney they gave me a great price. Trick is to go at the end of the month and to try and get an ex demonstrator. You might have to put up with something that you don't like, like colour or a lack of an option but the factory dealer will want to shift the cars to make the figures look better for Germany.

Thanks for all the tips and suggestions. I test drove an M3 about 3 weeks ago as well as a Cayman and fell in love with the M3 - that power and the sound! Now I'm just trying to work out how to get one! I have also engaged a broker so I'll see how much value they deliver

Andrew - Just a tip, if you're making an order for a M-DCT you might want to note that it was released October 2008 and some of them have the old iDrive system on it.

So worth checking that the M-DCT comes with the latest iDrive which includes a 80Gb internal HDD for Sat Nav and Music. The old iDrive is DVD based on the menu's have been updated in the new iDrive as well.

I thought all E90/E92/E93s from Sept 08 build came with the 2nd gen iDrive. At least I hope so as I have a week 44 / Oct08 build E90 M3 coming ex-QLD and I didn't check!!

Does anyone have a Sept 08 build M3 with the superceded iDrive??!!

Many thanks

Thanks for that. The car I have coming is an Oct 08 build with Jan 09 compliance.

I was really cheesed when they announced the 2nd gen iDrive just after I took delivery of my 135i coupe in Jul 08, and I did not want to miss out with the M3 sedan.
