what's the most miles you guys put on 1 full tank? i just hit 500+ miles...

i just ran across the state on cocsistantly on 70~75mph for the whole time and voila!, i ran over 500 miles in one tank. i didn't top it off and by the time i made stop to the gas station for "---miles left", mileage that i had on the car for the full tank of gas was 513 miles.

this car really do get good mileage for the power it produce... i must say i was amazed for the gas mileage it gets. on my odometer, it says 32.3 mpg!!!

i was on completely stock 335i coupe other than AE exhaust when this was done and had 30+ pounds of stuff in the trunk. so i don't know what kind of mileage i could've gotten if it was completely empty car @ 55mph cruise...

in the city+hwy driving i usually get somewhere around 300~460 depending on how much i drive on hwy and how hard i drive (you can imagine how i drove to get 300 miles for the full tanks ) and it was pleasant surprise to see it can do 500+ miles on hwy only driving.

all i did was stopping by tire shop to check tire pressure, went to gas station right by the hwy and went down to go across the state. there was no traffic or anything and was able to get 71.2 mph on average speed for this trip...

Yeah no way am I getting anywhere near that.

I get better mileage on my "city" portion of my commute than I do on my highway portion. Because a lot of the city driving is consistent 45-55 MPH while hwy is about 80mph.

All in all, it averages to be around 24-26 at most. Congrats on the anomaly.

I have gotten 500+ several times on long distance trips. No AC, proper air pressure.

But the guys with the 320d really get great fuel efficiency.

Routinely get 360 to 375 miles per tank in all city driving. Never did a tankful on purely highway yet.

I've done 480 before I think. I see 30MPG pretty often when I'm on the highway cruising around 80.

All these numbers are insane! I think the BEST I've gotten was about 330-340.

Thats crazy. I've never gotten anywhere near that and I have done Seattle to Pullman several times. My average was 17.2 before my ecu update which was a month or two ago and now I am getting 18.2 and I was excited. I bet I rarely get over 300 miles.

There are 8 zillion threads like this one, but I participate every time. 500 miles on a tank is pretty typical for all highway driving. Like you said, it's just over 30 mpg, which is what our cars are rated on the highway. Most of us get slightly better than 30 mpg on a highway drive.

I remember when I picked up my car and posted on here that I got 33.5 on the return trip. Some 'expert' said, yep, thats why BMW gave it that model designation. .

Yep, 33.5-34 pretty common with a 70mph cruise setting.

Hey, I got two bars now

I must be doing something wrong. I've seen upwards of 27 or 28 when staying under 65, but no more than that....

I manage to get 476, with 10mls to spare. This is with a load of my toddler son, wife, as well as luggage/toys for the trip. I'm sure we would of gotten higher had we not made two stops via drive-thru and a pit-stop. Not bad for the E90.
