blown RFT + tune

so after a car wash i decide to put air in my tire after a low indicator for a couple of days. once i finish on my way to grab a drink i hear something like a gunshot, turn around and a big puff of smoke shoots out of my tire.

long story short i end up taking it to my cousins house since i was on my way their and noticed the tire basically gashed. i call BMW roadside assistance where they decide to send a tow truck to the nearest dealer.

at this point i'm worried about my tune and DCI but my cousin insisted that it would not be a big deal and very unlikely that they would hook it up to a diagnostic and would probably change the tire w/out checking anything else.

twenty minutes later i pussed out and cancelled the towing service not taking a chance. i know, i'm a full blown bich boy

good call IMO. don't take any chances with the warranty. i believe codes are stored in your key fob anyways, so once they plug that into their computer, its over if your car threw a tuner code.

it only takes about 20-30min to take the tune and DCI out, don't risk it.

I had my tire changed a couple days ago at the dealer, I removed my tune but not the DCI, I had a headlight warning as well, I got my car back, they didn't mention the DCI. But every dealership is different, dont take chances. (although I did and it worked out.)

Happened to me once, I brought the car in and stayed with it the entire time. At no point did anyone pop the hood or plug into the OBDII port. All they did is write down the mileage, patch the tire, remount, and reset TPMS... done.

Once I went in for an oil top off (w/ Jb3 and intake) and the tech insisted on plugging my car into the computer. I saw him going for the OBDII so I immediately pulled my phone out of my pocket, started freaking out and yelling and told the service tech that I needed to pick up a coworker and drive him to the hospital. So I took my car and two quarts of oil and got the hell out of there...

Good call anyways, better safe than sorry!

if they see mods they'll probably check your car out.

Take the tune out and hit the SOS button again lol...

Good call for what you did i think. Maybe saved yourself your warranty as well as your car in the future.

Good call. I would of done the same...just call a private tow and take the Tune out first. Not worth the risk.
