Wheel Repair for Pothole Rash

Really, I cannot express how much I hate the roads at Chicago right now. My front left wheel fell into a pothole when doing a left turn at intersection on Harlem Ave. during the thunderstrom on Saturday. The wheel pretty much slipped along the edge of the crack and fell right in to that pothole, which must have been a foot deep.

So this is the damage, a nice gash along the rim and some rock managed to imbed themselves between the tire and rim.

So guys, can you please recommend any good wheel repair shop or person in Chicago area that can't fix this? I don't have a private garage at here, so I can't really do this as a DIY. And how should I dislodge the rocks that is trapped in there? (I tried carefully with a screwdriver but to no success)

Really, a bit of myself just died when I saw my style 230 looking like this...

***Did a quick search on Google, found "Wheel-Tech" at Highland Park do this kind of service. Anyone have any experience with them?

I heard they do a pretty good job too my friend took his Audi there for something similar.

Do you notice any vibration coming from the steering wheel or any odd noise from the suspension or its all good except for the rim?

Seems all good so far, no change in suspension, steering feel or air pressure. Honestly, I am shocked by the toughness of these OEM wheels. But what is worrying me is the rocks trapped between tire and rim.

Just called Wheel-tech up, they charge $95 for refinishing the surface and ~$20 more for remounting the wheel, which I probably need to get rid of all the crap trapped in the tire. Seems like reasonable price since they claim that they can finish all the work in one day. Anyway, thanks for all the fast response, I will keep you guys updated on this.

quick question, anyone ever tired to file a claim with the Chicago City Clerk? http://www.chicityclerk.com/claims_vehicle_damage.php

Guess, it is too late for me now, since they require a police report. But I am just wondering if this claim thing actually give your money back.

I heard stories about it. It takes time, but if you go through the processes you should definitley be able to get some money out of it.

Also it's not too late to fill out a police report because they don't know when you hit the pothole. Just go there and say it just happened unless you fixed the rim already, but i think you should still be good cause you got pics to prove it.

One problem, I don't remember which intersection was it when I fell into the pothole . The NAV told me to take a completely different route that day, due to some traffic on I-94. But I will keep this in mind the next time I hit a crater.
