Exhaust color

My 335i has 500 miles now. The right exhaust pipe is black on the inside, the left is light grey. Why?

because unless you unplug the connection in the back left of your trunk or do the golf tee mod your car isn't utilizing both sides of the exhaust at lower rpms, during the winter you should see that smoke comes only from the right side when you first turn the car on

what is that because i noticed that on my car it only comes out of on side also,

newbs lately hav been askin some stupid question that can easily be answered w/ a simple search. a lot of ppl here r willin to help others answer a question, but do urself a favor and search for ur chit first...

Well, I searched for exhaust color, black etc. Nothing came up. Of course I didn't know to search for golf tee mod.

Well, I must say that the search here isn't the greatest ever. I usually end up with tons and tons of local forum crap that has nothing to do with what I need. bimmerpost uses Google with their BBS, which is much better.

its not that ra2's taking you personally. he's just saying it in general because there are tons of threads made already with this topic. well, before starting a thread, just take 5-10 mins of your life in searching first before posting. and besides, all of us should be mature and take them as constructive criticisms from others.

No need to get pissed. Your searching skills just suck. They will get better though. Took me all of 15 seconds to find this thread which popped up on the first page of a search of this subforum using the term "exhaust tips".

You'll get better at it. Just enter any logical combination of two words describing your issue in the proper subforum, or in the main search engine, and you'll find something.
