Should I Buy this 2007 BMW 335i?
Since this is my first post, i hope I'm in the right forum.
I have an opportunity to buy a fully loaded (premium + sports packages) 2007 335i with low mileage (10,500) at a good price from a private party. My concerns is that the car is a "Manufacturer Buyback/Lemon Law Buyback" in CA and is noted on the pink slip. It was returned due to downtime associated with warranty repair. Issue "Rattling noise from engine area" . I'm told the issue has corrected by "replacing both turbo charger waste gate actuators". I'm told that BMW will warrant that the vehicle will be free of this problem for a year, and that this car has the full balance of the BMW factory warranty and no cost BMW maintenance both for 4 years (expires 7/05/2011) or 50,000 miles. I read the technical thread posts on this issue (not that i fully understand them), and can see that this has been a problem for these cars made in that time frame. Is it worth buying for $32,900? or should I stay away?? ANY help, suggestions, guidance is appreciated by this Newbie Thanks! |

For $32k you can probably find a better deal without lemon.
I'd stay away from the lemon EDIT: for example... http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=198322

If that is noted on the title, you should be able to get it for much less than market value. Keep in mind, someday you will need to sell it also. There are 335's out there under $30K.

I just got a good deal on a 335i sedan, fully loaded, that was a "lemon". It has been repaired since then. I don't really see a problem with buying a lemon if you know what the problem was and you have records of it being fixed. At least that's how I justified my purchase!

You can get a cheaper one that isn't a lemon.

even if it is fixed, you will be hosed on resale when you sell it. so unless you can get a SUBSTANTIAL discount from the going price for non-lemoned cars, dont buy it.

You can get a nicer car for $32 as other stated above. Avoid this one.
