How many people with 2009 models have had HPFP failure?

Self explanatory. If you have an 09 335i and have had HPFP failure, please say so.

Sooner or later we will all have the problem. I does seem that more people on the west coast have this problem. Why I don't know. Again BMW with there Band Aide. Fix the problem, just don't keep replacing rebuilt units. I wrote a nice letter to the President of BMW a few weeks ago. No answer no nothing, not even a form letter. You get a better response with Chrysler, at least they tell you that they are going BK! BMW Wake up you have a lot of pissed off customers. I wonder how many customers will look elsewhere on there next car. I know I am.

It was a simple question with 2 simple components.

1. Do you have a 2009 335i? If Yes, go to #2.
2. Has your 335i had HPFP failure?

It was actually simpler than that. There is no need to answer question 1 (as the prior person did). You asked to hear if anyone with an '09 335i had a failed HPFP. If so, they should tell you. If not they should just move on--like I'm going to do.

I felt I had to simplify it even more for some people.

Probably a good idea, but I doubt my two fifth graders would have a problem understanding your original post.

What worries me is that BMW extened the warranty, so does that mean they don't plan on ever fixing the problem just handing out new pumps for 7 more years?

I was just going to move on as this does not apply to me. But I need to interject here, as yomama69 is a decent guy; read the thread, if it does not apply to you, no need to reply and add clutter to it. Answer questions 1 and 2, that's it.

question #1 was posed, so I answered it. Even if it wasn't, the original question was broad enough that in a forum setting, one could infer that it would be appropriate to answer question #1.

It could be due to to the fact that most of the west coast states only offer 91 as their premium gas. But it still doesn't account for the fact that the failures are happening nationwide..

2009 E90 335: no problems with the HPFP.

Only gas that my engine has ever run is Shell V-Power. I also did a full break-in.

Dealership told me that in the 2009's they have a new HPFP version installed so it should not be an issue but there was a tech bulletin issued about HPFP problems and high ethanol contents.

Build date for my vehicle was Production Week 44.

Got my car in February and have 2300 miles but no problems as of yet.

My L7 stereo doesn't work once in a while though.

Extended it for '07 and '08 models ONLY. So far at least. The rest of us have to live on pins and needles hoping that we'll be included with the cool kids even though we've already seen that our fuel pumps have still not been fixed.

That's not really more helpful.

I'm trying to determine if the so-called improved fuel pump on the 09 models is, in fact, improved.

I have a 09 335i on order, dealership says HPFP issues are far less than 07 year.I am in CHARLOTTE NC.Local friend uses only 100% detergent gas ,texaco ,chevron and one other because no 10% ethenol. Also another owner uses lucas octane boost to get gas lubricant properties, whatever that means. He said failures in europe are not like in USA??

No fuel pump issues so far.

Why do people on this board have to bitch about every thread they don't like for whatever reason???

Nice try. Read the first post. Neither you, nor I, should have posted in this thread. This will be my final, but I suspect you will want the last word.
