Buying out a lease?

Has anyone here converted a lease into a purchase? And if so with the economy as it is, how is the negotiating with residual and so forth.

Dealers usually take a few grand off the residual value. Anything below that you would have to negotiate for it. I know someone whose residual was about $34k and they negotiated down to about $28k + tax. Of course every dealer is different and it depends on the timing and local market as well.
