Another driver unintentionally PWND by my wife & E92
Today my wife was alone driving my E92 and was being tailgated pretty bad by another American Soldier driver on one of the B-Roads. My wife was coming up to a ramp to get onto another B-Road and the guy followed her with a larger gap now trying to match her speed. She took the ramp a lil fast without breaking, to get some distance from the tailgater, and was established in the turn when it suddenly sharpened.
Of course she panicked and pressed the brake which sent the back end loose. Luckily she remembered my speech about keeping the wheel pointed where you want to go and the DSC will take care of the rest. DSC did its job straightened her out and she kept going, no issue other than a frightened wife . The other driver ended up sliding all the way toward the outside of the turn into the other lane and almost ate the rail! So there's my wife taking the turn like a champ while the dude behind her almost eats it. Last edited by Kamando; 05-02-2009 at 05:55 AM.. Reason: better explanation |

Good catch on the spelling, fixed. She didn't purposely brake check him as she had gotten some distance from the guy at this point. The guy simply followed attempting to take the corner as fast as she was. She thought she was going too fast to make the rest of the turn she was in but made it through and it turned out to be too fast for the guy behind her. Rear Fogs are installed (American Spec).

Thank god for DSC.
People need to learn car control. Kudos to your wife for remembering what to do.

lol. i used to work at a harley shop years ago. so i did some work on a customers bike and took it for a spin. it was a big-ass '71 police edition FLH. So i'm riding it, minding my own business and this dude in full leather jumpsuit flies past me on a Ducati 996, lays it down suuuuuper low and takes highway on ramp. I'm 300 ft behind him and thinking "dang, that dude got skills". So i get to that on ramp slooooowly make a turn and see that Ducati laying in the middle of the ramp and the guy crawling out of the bushes. I guess he slipped in an oil spot or something, but that was fucking epic.

Sounds like the car did all the work. If I read the story correctly, it sounds like she took a turn too fast, panicked and hit the brake, and the DSC saved her. If it wasn't for the car's DCS, it sounds like she might have gotten close to eating the rail too.

Nice to hear this story -- seems like most of the PWNED stories are about our members getting crunched somehow. I like the way in this one no one gets hurt but the bad guy looks like an idiot.

Agree. But it is nice to know that bit of Deutsche technology did its job and saved a nice gal's life. You'd feel the same if it was your wife.

Oh absolutely, and that's the story here, that DSC did a great save. But it's not a story of beating some loser using really great driving skill.
