suggest on 8000K

Hi,

I am finally converting my halogens to xeons. I really like the little bluish effect in xeons..u think getting H7 8000k Mtec kit is a good idea..I mean temprature and other overheating issues etc.

Please give me u r input...

Thanx
Achal

brighter does NOT mean more visibility
as you go up the colour temperature, less visibility
brightness is inversely proportional to visiblity

I'd said stay with your halogen, unless you do the full OEM retrofit
yoru halogen lamp base is NOT designed to house a HID, the light will be too dispersed if you simply just plug it in there, thus give off a blinding light to oncoming traffic

so, yeah, either full retrofit or none at all

Discussed tons of times. You can do it, but it won't look legit. And many many cops frown upon. You will blind others and you will have hot spots of light on the ground and some spots with barely no light at all. Its the nature of the beast. The reflector housing is not designed for HID therefor disburses light differently.

in simple words.... higher the kelvin less light is used. for brightness i suggest around 4000k, for looks and bightness i suggest 6000k, and for looks 8000K..(i personally dont reallly like the 8000k, seems a bit ricey for me; i perfer 6000k)

if you want light blue-ish color like you said, i suggest 6000k. Once you get to around 8000k, it starts to turn violet / purple (it might not look that way in pictures, but once you see it in real life its a bit violet).

yeah.. i was stupid to not get the Xenon lights to begin with, but can people with the Mtec kit tell me how they like it? I really regret not getting them in the first place, but i dont know how to justify 2000-3000 to get a retrofit. >:[

Based on pass personal experience, i would not go anything higher than
6000k color temperature. Anything higher than that, ie 8000k, your visability will suffer, especially in a night time raining conditition.

I would suggest OEM spec for safety reasons. 6000k is fine if you can live with it, but 8000k??? its bright for on coming, but not for you.

did you not read the above posting explaining that you lose lumen as the color temperature go up?

doesn't matter if it's JDM, whereever DM, the color temeprature rating is standardized

i would stick with OEM standard 4300k. or 6000k the most. anything higher than that would cause you to lose lumen or visibility, especially in the rain.
