my friend with 335i want to get dinan software which upgrade hp to 384. i told him to spend same money on other modification. the reasons:
1. you need to upgrade inter-cooler otherwise the engine wont last too long. that's another 1700 extra.

2. bmw extend warranty doesnt cover if engine failure due to dinan parts. that's BIG risk to the car.

in my opinion, dont modify engine because too much high-tech involved.

You pay to play. JB3 or Vishnu Procede would be good options to choose from besides Dinan. Either way, hes gonna fork out mad $$$ to mod his cars. But you're right on the cost.

I agree with the warranty part, but my understanding is that the stock intercooler can handle the upgrade though not as efficient as an upgraded cooler.

It seems as if all of the programs out there have figured out the "high tech" aspects of the car.

It's his ride let him do with it as he pleases, to each their own.
