Small Town Car Show: American Muscle vs. E90

Here are some pics from my first show. I was the only import, as you can see. Almost all awards went to vintage Mustangs. There were about 40 cars in the show (2 BMWs, including mine). My only mods so far are the deck spoiler and 330i exhaust tips, but I have a front apron, eyelids, and rims on the way.

I dunno man, you've got a nice ride and all, but I don't see the point of brining your car to a car show when it's barely modded, people must've thought you were just parking there on the street, no?

And having all the windows up and hood, trunk lid closed even the side mirrors folded up didn't portray a positive image IMO.I thought He just parked there on the street.

Nice pics...we have similar set-up (up to this point) i.e. blacklines, roof spoiler, 156s...also working on wheels.

Yes it is. A clay dog.

I forgot to mention that that Isetta did win the "People's Choice" trophy.

I actually took these pics at the end of the show (forgot the camera the 1st part of the day). I had the hood/windows down when I was "showing" it.

But one ? for you: You'd leave the trunk lid open during the show?

BMWs are more of a novelty here.

At least the hood and the windows, looks more inviting, you know.
I think having your car there was a great idea, since there was an Isetta there. To show a different old model and a current one,the E90 didn't have to be modded au contraire.A stock 2002 would've been nice too.
Some people here don't realise that in rural America BMW's are very rare it's not like in connecticut where almost every fifth car is a BMW.

question: was it harder for you to negotiate the price of your car since BMW's are not that common in your area?

Not for me. Generally people here pay sticker or close to it, but I just moved from Boston so I used Herb Chambers (they're good for something) as a baseline in negotiating and ended up buying my present E90 from Nashville BMW at a competitive price.
