Tire pressure monitors for track wheels?

What are peoples thoughts on installing tire pressure monitors on dedicated track wheels?
Does anyone know how much they weigh?

Discuss..

Having just bought my set - I went with. I can see argument for and against here. I check pressure before and after each run and log the results. So yes, pretty religious.

So why include them? Well, I also figure I'd want to know as soon as possible if I'm losing pressure and get back to the paddocks before something really bad happens. Plus, the added cost was only 6% of the tire/wheel package. Would be even smaller with a more expensive set.

I did not order them for the track set. Started a similar thread at the time. My understanding is most people omit them on the track wheels.

I've been meaning to update this thread. I bought the tpms sensors for the track wheels and I'm glad I did! They saved my a$$ once already.
I had a loose valve stem and was slowly loosing pressure on my way home from Laguna. I was loosing about 10lbs every hour and would have surely damaged my tire and wheel if not for the system.
The acutal sensor is small and doesn't weigh enough to make a difference so there's no reason not to install them on track wheels.
I'm now circling back and getting them for the snow tires on my other car.
