Question Buying 2009 328i help

Hi folks,
I've lurking on here for a little while trying to do some research in buying my first BMW and was hoping you could help.

I got a CarCostCanada report yesterday and her are the numbers:
Msrp 39,800 -Invoice 36,210
Freight 1,995.00
A/c tax 100.00
Premium pkg 1500.00 -invoice 1365.00

Msrp Total is 43395.00 Invoice total is 39,670.00

There are also 2 rebates available to the dealer:

Alternate cash Back/ factory to dealer rebat 2500.00
Option credit/ factory dealer to rebate 1625.00

What do you think I should offer the dealer and does anyone in the Toronto know of a good dealership that I could deal with?

E90 (sedan) or E92 (coupe)?
Sports pkg is a must.

I disagree about the sports package. I liked the regular handling and feel of the 328 and I didn't want to add anything that cause it to be too harsh after all of the complaints. The seats are nice though, but if you don't plan to really track your car (and most people buying a new BMW that track it would go for a 335 or M3) the sports package isn't needed for everyone.

You are very wrong. Sport package is worth every penny that you pay for it. It's a MUST, unless you get M-Sport In this case, you are excused from not having it.

I too think the sport package is a must have. the 205 wide 16" tires that come on the base model car have very little grip and they don't fill out the wheel wells which makes the car look odd.

EDIT: start with $500 over invoice. sales are in the toilet so someone will be willing to deal especially if the car is already on the lot

You could always get the optional upgraded 17" wheels (as I did with mine) as opposed to getting the entire sports package if you decide against it but want bigger wheels and tires than the stock 16" wheels.

That's what I did too. Base suspension with 17 inch tires.

The suspension is more than firm enough for me.

I agree, the Sports Package is a must. Even my wife after driving a new 2009 328 w/o out the Sports Package (loaner car) in her words said it was "terrible". She was so happy to get her car back.

Great car, however equipped, but prepare to see it bashed on this site. The 328 gets no respect here.

Totally agree,

I had a loaner 335i without the sports package yesterday, it was horrible. It always amazes me how BMW can even offer this.

Drive one car with sports and another without over a wide variety of roads and then decide.

I love the sports package, but it's very rough on terrible roads. The seats are great.

I think the best solution for most us that drive bad roads is to buy ZSP and replace the RFT's with non-RFT's.

Well I went to the dealer today but he wasn't willing to budge on price, the arrogance level on him was pretty high. I found a 2008 with only 16k for a pretty good price, it has the sport and premium pkg. Hope to close the deal by the end of the week.
