Bring the MZ4 Now!!!

BMW needs to bring the MZ4 now. With the recent announcement that the next M3 will likely be a twin turbo 6, it would make sense that they would go in the same direction with the MZ4. Knowing how easily tunable the current 3.0 TT is, I would think it would be easy for BMW to produce an MZ4. This car would be a screamer and would address the current version's reported handling shortfalls.
I want one!

A Dutch journalist wrote that BMW did confirm that there will be no M version, but BMW doesn't deny (nor doesn't confirm) that there will be a V8 version...

Get a 35i with a tune.Put some M accessories and it will be ready to enjoy earlier than BMW is going to make one.

Incorrect, infact the the very M-CEO did himself confirm that there won't be any Z4M. He said that in an interview. The article was published here att bimmerpost.

In the latest issue of Winding Road in an interview with Z4 program director, Klaus Borgmann, it was stated that plans are in the works for an MZ4 for 2011.

I could be wrong, but I believe that BMW said at one time that the E86 Z4 would have no ///M, and we all know how that turned out.

They might be telling the truth, but if they are going to make X5 and X6 ///Ms, then I would think the new Z would have to get one eventually....even if it is made in small quantities or sold in limited markets.

Just my opinion.....

They had better figure out how to control the hideously high oil temps and failing fuel pumps on the 3.0 TT motor before tweaking it further for an M version. The fuel pump issue is especially ridiculous, given that it's been what, 3 years since the motor was introduced, and they STILL can't procure a reliable fuel pump for the thing? Insane.

I'll stick with the tried-and-true S54B32 motor in my "obsolete" Z4M, over a fat pig E89. The only thing that would ever make me reconsider is a true coupe version, without the folding hardtop. And some new stying around the rear end to go with a better looking roofline that a true coupe would afford.

Isn't that exactly what I said? BMW confirmed that there will be NO Z4M, but they didn't confirm nor deny that there might be coming a Z4 with V8 engine.

V8 != Z4M

SLK 55 is over $70K with options. If there was an M version of the Z4 that outperformed it, I would get one.

Edmunds just did a test of the 2009 Boxster S that was priced over $80K with options!

I make pretty nice money, retired Navy, work in the Defense industry but after a while I just have to look and see if I really want to spend 75-80 grand on a car.

That's a tough sell in my book. I guess I'll keep buying my lottery tickets.
