Angry Bullsh!t Lease - 550i

Didn't see a lease section in the 5post. Mods, please move if necessary.

2009
550i
Black/Black
36 Months
10k miles
Loaded
BMW "customer loyalty"
$886/ month
?????????

This is what a BMW sales guy told me today.

The BMW website alone says $649, what is going on here? (Well equipped with navigation.)

P.S. - What's a 7 lease go for? Didn't see an option on BMWUSA.....

$649/mo BEFORE taxes, license and registration fees, but this is nothing.
There are people on this forum paying high $800's for their 3-series.

7-series lease is $999/mo before taxes.

And there was some dude last year looking for someone to takes over his lease on E92 335i.
Are you sitting down?
His lease payments were $1230/mo, because this genius signed up for 24K miles/per year lease....

Excuse my "ignance" but why, or how does someone end up paying $800+ for a 3 series????

How does this "incredible lease offer" end up so high at only 10K miles/year?
Her credit is in top 5%, steady and well-paying job....I don't get it?

Sounds like leases are all over the map. Is there a KBB of leases that I can use as a barometer to gauge the fairness of lease prices?

Thanks!

In talking with a friend who sells for Land Rover, he said people will lease a vehicle through their company and jack up the mileage. This drops the residual value and at the end of the lease they can purchase the vehicle for much less than it's worth.

Good luck with the 55 though, I'll be curious to read the posts to follow

I looked at leasing my car and the payments were $700-$800 month. The financing was horrible too. I ended up ordering my car exactly as I wanted it and told the salesman and finance manager that if they wanted to make any extra money on the lease/finance they should give me a call with any better offers and they never could do much better at all. Ended up paying in full. These days you should be able to push them around until the deal is good. Those rates online are just teasers, but it shouldn't always be 30% more.

Well its pretty understandable if you don't negotiate the price, fully loaded, no money down, bad residual, bad interest, high taxes, high 800's are not unheard of

I heard Honda has awesome deals these days.....

If you want to drive high class, pay high class.

And, BTW the 535i is the better choice over the V8 550i. Saves money and gas and better residual at comparable performance.

Regards,

Ray

It is not a good idea to pay over the odds for a car about to be replaced next year, is it?

You can't tell anything about that lease deal without all the facts. There is a great lease calculator you can find here, http://www.bankrate.com/calculators/...alculator.aspx. I sued it and got within .30 cents of what the dealer was telling me. It can help either pinpoint where this extra money is coming from or help you understand anything that may not be clear.

Thanks for all the help.

It was with $2,500 down.

I (personally) don't like leasing anyway, so have talked her into just buying the car. Not this car. We're going to test drive a few today, so we'll see.

We probably won't do anything for another 6 months or so, but I was just putting feelers out and will find any excuse to go look at the new cars at the dealer!

Thanks again.

6 months? lol

No numbers are gonna be the same...rates and residuals will be different, so you really cant base todays numbers on what to expect then.
