For sale, a brand new iPhone 3G Snap-In Adapter for Smartphone dock in armrest of E90/E92. I bought this not a week ago, but realized it isn't the part for my purposes. I snapped it in once to try it, and it works great.

How does this work? Does it just fit right into your arm rest? Any modifications needed? I don't have the IPod integration kit for my audio system, I simply use the auxillary output, how does this work with it?

As long as you have the Smartphone Dock, it will click right in. No doubt. However, I should be clear here...

It only provides iPhone charging, improved bluetooth & phone reception. From what I can tell, it does not sync the music with the iDrive. Also, once your phone is clicked in, you won't be able to access the audio jack on top of your iPhone.

Hope that answers your questions. Probably not what you wanted to hear I'm thinking...

So is there anything that lets you control the music thru steering wheel controls? I'm looking not necessarily for charging, but rather music.
