Ordered 5/9 and going into production soon!
I've been lingering for a while, but this is my first post.
Ordered my first Bimmer on Saturday, May 9 and got word today that we have a VIN and it is going into production. I don't want to wish my life away, but is it early July yet?? |

Congrats! The wait will drive you insane so prepare yourself!
I find it interesting in that I ordered mine on 5/4 and she's already done and on a boat heading over!?!? I've never been one for good timing but, maybe this time I got lucky! Be sure to call 1-800-831-1117 Say "production vehicle status" Then provide your Production # or last X digits of your VIN to get updates. Unless you got a bat line to your SA, this is typically quicker and easier to get your own status. |

Thanks for the tip Ginsu. Yes, the waiting is already killing me and it hasn't even been two weeks yet.
Ordered on 5/4 and it is on a boat already? The stars must have been aligned for you. I just called the 800 number and found out that production is scheduled to complete on 5/29. According to my CA, it should be in the last week of June at the very latest. |

I just called the 800 number:
"Your vehicle is in production, with an estimated completion date of May 29." I thought for sure details about paint, assembly, etc. would be available by now. Oh well. Hopefully it is on schedule, and there will be a ship just waiting at the harbor over the weekend. |

When I call the 1.800-number I get the same message too, but if you ask your CA... they will have the updated stats & dates for your car! Ask them to e-mail you the information! We're both getting closer!!!! |

"Entry to port of exit!" Now the excruciating car limbo to get on a boat! Did you ever get your CA to update you on more detailed status? I was in the body shop Monday, and paint shop Tuesday... |

I figured you would! I didn't ask, since Wednesday was his day off. The 800 number "told" me today that it is in the body shop and is still scheduled to complete tomorrow. That probably isn't very current, at least I hope not! I'll shoot him an email now.... Hold the boat for me!!! |

As of 1:00 on 5/30, my vehicle is still in the paint shop with an estimated completion date of 5/29. It has now been in the paint shop for about 24 hours.
I still haven't heard back from my CA either. I'll cross my fingers too, Albino! |

Albino - any update on yours? Mine has been stuck in the same status since Saturday morning - "Waiting to be released to the carrier."
EDIT - My CA confirms that he is seeing the same status. He indicated that sometimes it can take up to a week before they are moved to the port and onto a ship. We still look good for the end of the month. Last edited by PsychoSlug; 06-01-2009 at 05:32 PM.. Reason: Added content |

ugh... Wife & I ordered a Z4 35i on Sat and all I want now is some information that it HAS been ordered. Mon we got a call late in the day of a very similar vehicle on a boat on its way over that we could have in 10 days, but it was missing some options we didn't want to live without so we told him to order. Then yesterday he was off and nobody could give us any info...
Waiting... impatiently..... edit (BTW, sorry if I'm threadjacking this) Now I'm thoroughly pissed... Sales Advisor is gone again today and sales manager is off too. The remaining sales staff can't tell whether I'm on order or not. Granted, it's only a couple of days, but I didn't just write a check for a $15k Hyundai...
