Exclamation Question about JB3

Hi all
If I put my car on map 0 (stock map) using the JB3 , and took the car to a regular service , will the dealer still be able to find out that my car is tuned using a scan tool , without opening the ecu box ?

Thanks !

Garage List
Probably not. I would take it out to be on the safe side.

Do you have a Bav Tech tool?

The thing is, you may have thrown some codes and not known it. We can't see the rest of your mods, so it's hard to say.

If you have codes, and they scan, they'll see them, and that would give them reason to start digging into places you don't want them to dig.

Either take out the tune, or get a Bav Tech tool and scan/delete codes first.

If you don't have any codes BMW scans of your car will not show that you have a JB3 installed no matter what map you're on. But if they take it for a test drive then you may be in trouble if you leave it on map 6/7 for example LOL

Omg why do we get these questions like 3 times a week??? Take your tune out every single time you go to the dealer - otherwise take a chance for them to void your engine/powertrain warranty. Either way it's your money.

Leaving any tune in for service= retarded... Why even take the chance when it takes less than a half hour to remove?
