How many running map 6/7 on JB3 offical 1.3?

How many people running Map 6 or 7 on Jb3 1.3 final version on a otherwise stock car with 93 octane? Was thinking of bumping up to Map 6/7 but not sure if it would be as fast or as powerful than 4/5.Thanks

If you run a higher map than you are suppose to, get it dynoed to verify the car isn't pulling timing up top.

You might think running a higher map feels faster because the lowend/midrange is a lot better but the car will pull timing up top. I found this out the hard way through dynos.

Once I tried map 7, I almost couldn't change back. I force myself to use map 6 or I'd be working the DVs for no reason on 7. Definitely depends on the weather conditions but I have a few bolt-ons to have the map do its work.

Or get an accelerometer to gauge the increase. I run map#7 as my daily driver on 91 octane, no engine mods at all. (not recommended). I will probably do some more testing on lower maps just to see if there is any benefit. My peak PSI on map #7 was only about 14.7 psi (and that would be the highest boost spike psi.).

I secretly follow what hotrod is running and then adjust 1 variable lower:

He runs 7 on 91 no mods so I run 7 on 93 or 5 on 91 both with DCIs

Don't know too many people that have done more "real word" testing than he has... LOL

Actually the problem normally is inadequate airflow on the dyno, compared to what you normally see on the road. So it may work on the road very well, but get it on a dyno and then you start to see knock retard.

Hotrod by doing this are u throwing codes consistently, i run map 5 with DCI, tried map 6 for about 35 mins, but was scared that i would throw codes so i dailed it back to maps 4-5

Absolutely no codes whatsoever. I just checked yesterday morning. The only codes were from running out of gas. Showed 1300rpm, "0 Liters" of fuel, LOL. I don't know what it takes to get a superknock code, but I can't seem to trigger them. I don't however run greater than map 7 on 91 octane. I will however say that on the full on race maps, if it says you need 100+ octane, you definitely should be running 100+

I usually run map 5 on 91 with absolutely nothing more than a helene drop-in and it runs strong and smooth...night and day power over map 3. I figure if it hits 85 degrees I'll just bump it down to map 3. Right now I'm on map 7 on 95 octane just to screw around for the weekend and it is an absolute beast! Still super smooth as well...I'm sure with downpipes and a DCI it would be much more fun.

I noticed that my car runs WAY better on map 5 versus when I was using map 6.

Mods = DCI, Catless DP's, JB3 1.3 and 93 Octane.

So what should you run with 91 and DCIs?

I run maps 5-7 on a daily basis with DCI only and 93 octane. No codes at all. I find myself switching to Map 5 cause i get scared as well. But the car really hasn't given me a reaosn to be concerned.

What does WAY better mean? Better top end... Down low? Can you specify?
