Electric Shaving... preferences?

Im tired of the razor n cream, anyone have any good suggestions on what to get?

I dont really care how much it costs, as long as its around the $100 range... I had one before but it sucked... what do you use?

i use the braun self cleaning one. Mine's from a few years back but it's still working fine. I just need to replace the cutting foil each year which costs around $40. I paid around $200 for the shaver. The self cleaning system is nice though. Good investment. I believe the model number is something like the 8000 series

i have an electric shaver, but i rarely use it unless i'm in a hurry, which is virtually never. it's a braun, and i've owned several braun's, but you just can't beat the razor shave. i like a close shave better than convenience.

Yep, I started out with electric, got sick of the horrible shaves even from really expensive razors and changed to Mach 3's for years, only to just switch to an old school DE razor last month. The quality of shave is excellent, now I only worry that I'll end up with a straight razor and never be able to fly again!

Unless you have really fine hair, I'd recommend skipping the electric, unless the 5 o'clock shadow look is what you're going for. I got tired of paying for Mach 3 blades, and didn't even consider changing to the four and five blade types. DE blades are super cheap, and provide very close to a straight razor quality shave.

Razor is the best but I'm also tired of buying blades. I use a Panasonic Arc IV Nano. Pretty good. It's a little over the $100 range.

Braun with the self-cleaning system. Very good shave, but you do have to buy the cleaning refills (about 5 a year). I think you can even get them at Walmart.

Norelco XL FTW. Was less than 100. Can clean w water. And replace the blades every 6 months or so. Has been working well for about 2 years.

I use the Panasonic ES8075S. It gets a very close shave similar to a blade but without the cuts and burn of a razor blade

Great investment.

this is what i use.
its waterproof, battery lasts forever and it gets just about as close as a regular shaver, plus it has the sideburns trimmer built into it. paid around $180CAD

my other shaver is a Gillette fusion power, it gives me a really good shave and the vibration feels good.

I use Braun activator and I never had irritation problem unlike other ones I used before.

Buying tip for an electric shaver,
1. More expensive the better. (what's not anyways..)
2. Get a self cleaning ones and clean it every week to keep it clean.

The one I have? close but nothing will beat a razor. I just don't have the time to use a razor. When I did use one, the Mach3 ones kicked ass.

haha it should last more than a couple but yeah you do need to refill those every now and then when the cleaner indicates that it is time to replace.

I never tried the new Braun series, but I assume that they will work even better than my 3 year old system.
