It's not like a recipe. You can either build from nothing or renovate.

Building doesn't necessarily mean custom. In Texas a lot of the neighborhoods have 1-3 builders and you have to choose one of their models, so it's hardly custom, but nonetheless, a great time to buy and a good investment.

OP, what builder are you using?

+1, and right now, those builders will grind and have that done in a heartbeat. it's amazing how fast neighborhoods rise up out of nowhere here.

congrats, and make sure you visit the site often and watch for chicken bones in the wall cavity. Construction folks like to leave chicken bones there when they feast during lunch. Later on when you move in, you might experience chicken ghost running around making weird noises in the dark of night.

+1 mine is just 1 of the floorplans that the builder provides, but you can do a little tweak here and there to suit yourself more.
the company's called JR Rose, small but have searched and seems like they legit and good feedback.

When my parents built their house, it was cool to see it from start to finish. You really appriacate it more seeing all the work that went into it. I was still young at the time but I wish I would of taken pics of the progress until it was finished.

building a house is fucking expensive. one of my fam friends bought their house for like 1.5million. lived in it for like 5 years... lots of problems, so ended up remodeling. i think it was 2mill to remodel... looks dope but that's a shit load of money
