NEW: UUC big brake kit

We've been getting lots of inquiries about our anticipated big brake kit offerings for the E90. We are pleased to announce that development is completed, and production kits are ready to ship.

(front kit shown)

UUC's brake kit for the E90 utilizes race-proven Wilwood 6-piston front calipers with 2-piece 348mm slotted rotors, 4-piston rear calipers with 336mm slotted rotors, UUC's race-proven bracketry designs and BMW Club Race winning bias calculations. Also included in all kits are stainless steel braided brake lines, brake pads, and all miscellaneous hardware. Calipers available in black or red.

Pricing starts at less than $2500.

Installation costs should not be much different than simply doing a complete regular rotor and pad change plus brake bleeding. As these costs vary from shop to shop, it's better to ask your preferred shop how much they would charge.

A 348mm rotor will require 18" wheels for the brakes to clear, correct?

Actually, no... it will fit under 17". That's the reason we chose a 348mm rotor instead of the common 355mm. That 7mm makes all the difference!

I think you'll be blown away by the performance... the top BMW CCA racers in the E36/E46 Prepared classes are using our kits.

We're about to release a whole bunch of products for the E90/E92... basically, replicating our E46/E36 catalog plus a couple of new surprises. Ultimate Shifter kit, full suspension, exhaust, interior, flywheel/clutch assemblies, etc. And of course, we offer Forgeline wheels in custom fitments for E90/E92.

Are the calipers suitable for street use too? i.e. do the calipers have piston dust seals? Or do they require regular re-builds?

The reason I ask, is I've seen many Wilwood motorsport calipers (and AP Racing calipers for that matter) that don't have seals and while it's no problem for a race car, which gets regular brake re-builds, it can get pretty expensive and time-consuming for a car that is mainly used on the road and only occasionally used for trackdays.

Completely suitable for street use as well as race use. We've been running these calipers on daily-driven street cars for about two years with zero issues.

The Wilwood calipers are built differently than the typical street caliper in ways that improve it's heat resistance. Seals are internal and not "pillow" or "concertina" type seals (which get surface-burned on the pad backing plates under race conditions) and the pistons and piston bores are ultra-precise for wear resistance.

More details on concertina seals:
