Need your help PLEASE!!

I just installed my JB+ today... My first drive, it said "Engine Malfunction," and it said engine was at reduced power. Is this normal, and the ECU getting accustomed to the JB+? Or, is this a serious problem?

That shouldnt happen. Did you disconnect the battery when you installed it?

Try to take it off and see if the code goes away.

so, i didn't disconnect the battery when i installed it. Now what? Do I need to un-install the jb+? Or, can i just disconnect the battery now, wait 1/2 hour, and then see? BTW, where is the battery? In the trunk under the mat? If so, what do I disconnect?

With SSTT (in this local car I know of) never had to disconnect the battery, just make sure it is in "sleep mode"... open hood, close doors, lock car, and make sure the temp is cooled down (I think below 220). JB+ should be the same.

Regardless what you do now, you have thrown a code and absolutely MUST get a Bav Tech tool (or find someone who will let you use theirs) and clear the code(s).

Which code? That car has been to the dealer for 2 repairs already, LPFP and HPFP on 2 different occasions. Only thing they asked about was the RR-OCC.

Did you buy the jb plus used? If so did you open it and check it was at default? If it is at default then I would suggest getting a BT tool and scanning the car and contacting BMS tech support.

Who knows. There are any number of codes that could have been thrown. But if the CEL comes on, it's inevitable that there is a code to go with it.

Hopefully that sets you straight If you get a code like "T-map disconnected" then just LOL that because it proves nothing. Maybe you spilled fluid and wanted to clean/reseat it? heh

Was your car in sleep mode when you installed it? I haven't had any codes or cels and I start with 75%.

But, i just disconnected the battery, and tried again, and it just sputtered and sputtered. now its back in limp mode. i just disconnected teh battery again... should i try again, or should i just take the jb+ out, and get teh codes cleared?

Same issue happened to me. I have attached a diagram that looks like it was designed by a 3 yr old, but maybe it will help. You are also going to want to delete those codes that are now stored in your ECU as they are the codes that reflect that your TMAP was disconnected for a period of time..

And you can also send an e-mail to Terry for a little more assistance. He helped me in a matter of minutes.
