Any Of You Guys Get This Call Too?

so im getting these weird calls lately (i am registered with donotcall.gov) and everytime i see the #, i don't pick up the phone and this same message is on my answering machine by an automated voice. the phone call goes something like this...

"hi, this is a debt collector calling for "my name". if you are "my name" please continue listening, if not please hand up. (after holding a few seconds) we are collected a debt of 1 million dollars, to speak to an operator press 0, customer service 3, etc.

wasn't there a phone scame awhile back with this and if you press you get like a huge ass phone bill?

Haven't been getting the call, but I remember that thread about the scam. Bill was something like $2300 for each minute lol.

i don't think a collection agency would handle a $1M account...that's attorney territory.

Been getting weekly calls from (231) 224-2031. I don't answer but Google says its some sort of liberal survey company.

actually i work at a collection agency for about 52 hospitals, dr. office, forest lawn and ambulance services.... and we do have 1M dollar accnts very rare but we do have them. most people obviously cant afford 1M to pay for medical bills so they end up going to our legal dept. and so on and so forth...

Yup. Lets just say I handle the files for one of the largest auto company's motor credit debtors here in Texas....and I am not a collection agency.

Abstracts have to be filed and that's attorney work.

I get something similar on my cell. I have never listened to the whole message, I just delete it after I hear the first few words. I was getting at least one call a day for a while.
