Tune Recomendation

Ok - So here is the deal, I'm awaiting arrival of my E92 for July and have been evaluating which tune to go with.

My options are JB+ and JB3....
JB+ seems convenient to install / remove.
Know that it does not make as much power as a JB3, but then again I'm only going to be running 91 Octane.

So my question is this... The JB3 definitely has more run-way from a power advantage than the JB+. However, since I will likely not be visiting the local race gas station anytime soon, it is unlikely that I'll benefit from maps 4 and beyond that yield the maximum power. That being said, will the power and torque of a JB3 on map 3 (using 91 octane) be than much more worthwhile than the power provided on the same gas with a JB+?

I've searched around but have yet to see any dyno or numbers quoted given the scenarios above.

Appreciate the guidance.

Cheers,

Louie A

I would say go with the JB3. Your gonna catch the Modding bug when you get your tune, and the JB3 will compliment any future mods nicely. Also the JB3 is higher in demand so re-sale value is good on it.
As far as octane and maps, alot of Drivers are on map 5 on 91 octane as a daily driver with little to no mods! I was on Map 5 and no mods with 91 octane for a while, and my car ran great!

After reading this article I'm convinced that a JB3 is all the more less of a viable option for me.
http://www.europeancarweb.com/tech/e...des/index.html
Shows dyno results at Map 3 (highest map available for 91 octane) show gains +33 HP / +24 Torque. While those gains are nothing to sneeze at, I'm skeptical if they are all that much more than what a JB+ would provide at 100% (using 91 Octane).

Anyone have any dyno data showing JB+ @ 100% using only 91 Octane? I'm keen to understand what kind of gains it produces but moreover how it compares to the gains above from JB3 Map 3 using 91 octane.

+1. It has been 2 weeks I have been running map 5 as a daily driver using 91 octane with no supporting mods. It is butter smooth with no problems. I have my AR DP's coming in a week and will bump to 6 & 7 then. I would say JB3 all the way because of upgradability too.

I would say go for the JB+, see how you like it and if it's enough for you. If not, Terry does credit you when you upgrade. Research/email Burger Tuning to see how much of the purchase value you're going to get back from the JB+.

Terry gives you full credit for your old jb product when upgrading to a new JB product....

JB+ at 100% will throw tuner codes whereas JB3 will not. It has also been shown to throw tuner codes at default setting. Since your car is new, I suppose you care about warranty, right ? Or are you willing to shell $300 more for a Bavarian Technic cable & soft...
