^^ you are screwed, sorry to say, I live in MI and state trooper got me on my civic about 4 years ago and they do NOT allow any tint on the front 2 windows, used to allow a small 4-6" strip on the top on the window but not anymore.

And they will make you remove it and then throw the ticket out. So thats the worst thing is removining the tint. But double check the laws in your state to be safe, google it.

They make you do that because 35% tint is legal in CT.

What % tint do you have? Are they asking you to remove it or are they asking you to go get it measured?

thats wack. is there an option to just pay the fine? I mean, in NJ its only a $50 ticket. I was told once here when I got pulled for that, that if I removed it and went to court to dispute it, I could get out of it, but i was like, F that. I just paid the $50.

I would research the option to just a pay a fine also. If that's not possible then they want you to either go to the legal 35% or remove it. I'm not sure how they check if it's removed in CT but in NJ that happens at court.

well that's the thing. it's a warning that says on the bottom i need to fix my defective equipment (tints). so i have to go to DMV to measure tint and then im sure they will tell me to come back without tints or atleast a legal percentage.

i would love to just pay it off, but it doesn't look that way here...

I'm sure if you ignore the warning, it'll become a ticket.

You should call and ask the court if paying a fine is possible. If not then switch to the legal % before you go to the DMV to avoid going there twice.

Warning Tickets: If you have received a warning ticket from a law enforcement agency for window tint, VIN problems or the officer indicates DMV Inspection only, you must present the vehicle for inspection at a DMV inspection lane. All other warning tickets may be presented to a Connecticut licensed dealer or repairer for inspection.

hmm so your options are take the tints off get it checked and put the tints back on and spend more money or keep it on and get your inspection taken away or if you ignore it maybe they give you a ticket? maybe? and pay that off im not sure

I got one in NJ last month while driving through Helmetta. Helmetta is one of those towns were NOTHING happens so cops give tickets for the most random of things. I went online and paid the stupid $54 ticket. It's almost cheaper to pay the ticket than to have the tint removed.
