1st speeding violation & going to court?
Anyone in the NYC-Queens area had gone to court by themselves w/o lawyer on 1st speeding violation and yielded good results?
I just got one right off of LIE that clocked 52mph in a 30mph zone. The last time I got a speeding ticket was 3 year ago, but was told the judge would not considered records that old. Any tips would be appreciated, Thanks |

ohhh man good luck with that. It very hard getting out of those here in NYC and plus there is no negociating here like they do out in long island. When i got my speeding ticket here i can tell the judge was already going to say guilty he barely even listened to me when i was telling him what happened lol. good luck buddy, if anything u should get a lawyer. Then tell him to postpone that court date for a while. Keep doing it for 3 or 4 times. Then by the time u really go its more then likely the cop wont show up and u will get it dismissed.

Wow, sounds horrible.
Looks like I can forget about going in alone. Thanks for the heads-up guys. Guess it's time to get a lawyer and cross fingers that they work it out. Funny thing is, a friend of mine was just talking about his court experience yesterday, said he went in alone for 2 consecutive 6-pt tickets within 18 months. The judge just went "GUILTY" before my friend finished explanation. However when rebuked on how is he suppose to do business w/ suspended license the judge simply told him "Don't worry, you guilty but I won't suspend you". He ended up with 12 points, butt-load of fines but still allowed on the road. Guess the judge see him as a potential money cow to continue milk from. The BS is all about $$$... |
