Air Intake worth it?

I was thinking about buying this intake. Does anybody have any positive feedback? Thanks.

just read that link - that sucks and it's funny when you ask the seller for dyno results on new intakes, they completely ignore you -

doesn't help on their creditability and it kinda shows how shady they are.

We have aFe on all our cars. We love it. Quality intake, quality components, made in the USA...what's not to love.

However.

If you put it on the dyno and tested before after, yeah, you'd make no hp or lose HP because your car needs a day or two to re-calibrate, and your 2nd run is always less than your first. Furthermore, an intake doesn't add 30hp. It adds just a few, which can be counteracted (and then some) by temperatures, etc.

These intakes do not lose power. That's ridiculous. Nothing could be less free-flowing than OEM. I think people just expect the car to be 1 second faster to 60 and it's just not going to happen. An intake is important if you are modifying the car, though, as you don't want the stock intake to be the bottleneck.

Doesn't sound logical, does it?
So why do you expect any different with your car. It takes time. And, your 2nd run will not be as strong as your first, most times, because the engine heats up.

I get such a chuckle when one person makes a deduction (sometimes logical, sometimes completely ridiculous) and everyone else argues their point and takes it as fact. I want to try this out and see if it works for something other than car parts.

Guys. The population of the United States just hit 400 million.

...I'll be interested to see if people start quoting that as fact.

Injen or DCI are the proven winners. For stock vehicles, only a filter change (Macht Schnell) is necessary.

I may have a used 335i Injen setup for sale soon (black texture).

With all due respect... Sounds awfully emphatic. Kindly cite your sources? (I'm sure you have them, I'd just like to see them)

^^ That's one of many.

You won't find any of the 400hp club cars running the aFe kits on N54 motors, sorry. It's one of the reasons we don't offer that specific model.

I think when it's time to upgrade I'll do the BMS DCI. It's only $100 when you buy the BMS JB3 pinout with it. Looks like a good deal for the added peace of mind.

BMS single or DCI imo.Makes just as much hp and trq as the more expensive ones, looks great, easy install.Just my opinion.I have the BMS single along with my SSTT and just ordered the BMS DCI,more for looks and a little more sound and surface area than anything else, like expecting a jump in hp which i know isnt going to happen unless your up around the 400hp mark. Then you will realize the extra oomph at that HP level.IMO though anything less restrictive than the stock air box even on a stock car is better than nothing at all.Just dont expect any increase in power, just sound and maybe a little better throttle resonse, and maybe a slight seat of the pants feel in the higher rpm,s.

save your money and get the BMS DCI. it performs just as well, and at times, better than other intakes out there for fraction of the cost. unless you like the "looks" of the other intakes.. why waste the $$..

I did this with about $50 worth of parts directly from the Autozone down the street, and it only took about 30 minutes. Same results as a $500 intake.
