UPDATE: My car is at BMW: The Diagnosis
UPDATE:Got the car back. It got updated to the latest ista software. 33.03 or something like that. The absolute latest. Got a new fuel pump, new actuator on bank 2 turbo. New turbo/wastegate for bank one turbo, and the ticking is now gone and the car is running great. The new software is perfect. very responsive, no lag, great sound and it pulls to redline strong and with a sweet mettalic growl. Im very happy with it. It feels better than my pre 29.2 software and I like the idrive more. The car feels so good I think I might sell the procede and intake and use the money on suspension. The car feels great and I think a coilover would be fun. If I need a bit more power Ill just get a jb+ or sstt for like 120 bucks or something. If your car gets an update, dont worry, be happy. btw, I had the 335d for a loaner and loved it, I thought it was very quick. Now that I have my car back I notice how much faster my 335i is. I got another comment by my SA who drove it for a night to make sure its all good and he said it feels much faster than the other 335i's he drives. I told him to drive it like I do because I wanted to make sure there were no issues.thanks for reading. One more thing I forgot to add is the transmission shifts so smoothly you cant even really feel it. HUGE improvement.
Well, the fuel pump is finally gone after 41000 miles. Also my pre 29.2 unfortunately has been updated to the newest software, whatever that is. As suspected it didnt cure the ticking of the wastegate that you cant see. The car is getting a new turbo/wastegate. My question is does it sound normal to only get one turbo replaced? 41000 miles and no problems and Im now joining the club of the usual things that happen to a 335i. Looking forward to getting my car back and putting the procede back on and see how it performs. I also wonder what differences there will be with the newest software. My dealer told me to get something that can clear codes because this software can pick up tunes. We obviously already know that. They also commented on how well of a job I did making the ecu look untouched. they said not even a field engineer would know. Im sure it helps that I replaced pretty much every part that could have had signs. I LOVE my dealer and we have become somewhat friends over the last few years. I even have a fully loaded 335d for a loaner which I love btw. thanks for reading. About the one turbo??do you think thats fine?

What was the sign that your HPFP was going out??
And was the ticking of your wastegate loud enough for the dealership to replace it? Or was it because of another reason?

no sign. maybe some erradic performance lately but nothing very dramatic. I drove to work it was fine, I went to leave and it was terrible, barely made it home to take off the procede. The ticking was very noticable when I brought it in. The noise started a couple months ago. before that for over 35000 miles I had no issues really.

But little ticking in the wastegate is allowed right? Because I can hear the ticking of my wastegate, but not loud at all especially over the engine noise.......Normal??

yeah, a little bit is fine. Its when it gets really loud and noticable that you might start running into trouble with the wastegates.

Glad the turbo/wastegate issue was at 41k and not 51k

I think Mike@N54 had one if his turbos replaced for wastegate ticking recently. So it's not unusual for them to do this.
Do you think that your oscillation issues were due to the fuel pump or to the wastegate? |

Two questions, do you have the part numbers for the DME wiring harness connectors (Mine are a little scratched from removing the pnp harnesses) and what do you think of the 335D?
That diesel is mighty tempting... |

Its a metallic ticking sound in the engine that happens during deceleration. If you rev the car as it comes back down if you have the noise its immediately noticeable and sounds like shit.
