does e92 = e90 front exhaust sections?

hey guys,
got a spare e92 OEM exhaust laying around and have a fellow member that is interested in swapping it onto his e90, BUT he only wants the front 2 sections, he has a Borla exhaust that would be clamped onto the rear section.

will that work?

is the front and middle areas of the e90 exhaust different?

same, except 2nd section of the E90 has an extra resonator on the driver's side piping.
