Its a cool bike, comfortable, but not much wind protection. It is fun and flickable, the torque is great (I have not ridden an 1100, just a 900S), but it will get left by more "sporting" bikes on twisty roads. Up to 8/10ths it will keep up with anything and you will have more fun and be more comfortable, beyond that...well much over 8/10ths should be taken to the track.

What are you going to use it for?

really just for sunday cruises, nice nights and leisurely riding. i dont want another sport bike because it MAKES you wanna go fast. i figured ive always loved the monster, looks great, nice power and will keep me more humble than a sport bike

Then it sounds like the perfect bike for you right now.

Don't forget to post pics after you get it.

If you're looking at a Ducati Monster... then you should also check out the Triumph Speed Triple.
It's a 1050cc and a great looking bike as well.

If I were to buy a touring bike it'd be the Speed Triple.

The 3's sound sick as well... go check out both. Either way you'll be happy.

Sounds like a good time to get a good divorce lawyer!

My wife feels the same way about bikes

my sales guy at the ducati dealer said just get the bike and let the wife get mad at you. i considered it but it isnt worth the heartache. i'll keep nagging her to see if she gives in. she told me to go buy another watch instead so i might do that, hahaha
