N55 engine and HPFP

Do you think they will have figured out the high pressure fuel pump problem on the new engine?

Nope, and if they do, it won't work on our cars. When you inquire about it, BMW will secretly void your warranty. Read the fine print, "Contract void if customer gets sarcastic about poor service and 'No Cost' maintenance scam."

It's a new and different engine, chances are they'll have a different HPFP.

Nope, the early stories are they are making it much more difficult to mod than the N54.
BMW is pretty fed up with the tuning of the N54.

Yeah, spanking M3s and M5s makes it a PITA to defend their pricing.

I'm sure Shiv and other brainiacs will figure out how to hack whatever is thrown at them.

My thinking is just that a single turbo = less complex plumbing. Maybe we'll be able to simply pop on an adapter and run a gt35 versus the sturm und drang of upgrading the 'twins'.

It uses electronic wastegate control. Not a vacuum line.
That's one complication...

One more bit to hack, that's all.

Twin-scroll technology thus combines the benefits of two turbochargers within one system.

I thought that was interesting...but what does it really mean?
