what if I want to do he oil change before 16000?? if I do it at the dealer and I pay that means that they are not going to give me my free oil change at 16k?

Yes it was the same system they used in the E46. For calvino, it's a good idea to do it in half the time under most normal circumstances. The dealer will not reset the service interval (make sure to tell them though) and when it's up then you can bring it in for the free one. Believe me they will be happy to change your oil half way thru the 15-16k interval.

I remember reading somewhere about getting a "free" oil change at the recommended service interval OR ONCE A YEAR... Is this true?

Yes, if you don't reach the listed mileage, you are entitled to one free oil/filter change per year, but they dont reset the light, so you still get one at 16000.
