Window smudge...

Hey guys, I noticed something weird and that's really starting to annoy me.

When I roll down my driver window and then roll it back up, I see a smudge line from top to bottom.

and it's quite greasy to the touch.

I know I should just bring it in, but then again, I'm just asking to see if it happened to someone else, so I could tell them what to look for when I bring it in.

Thanks in advance!

This happened on our old 2005 X3 on a hot summer day. Just a blob of sticky grease over one of the rear windows. Took it to the dealer and they fixed it. Honestly can't remember what the problem actually was, and it hasn't happened on any of our BMWs since.

Ya I figured it was no biggie.
But still thought I'd ask here.

BTW, it's not only once, it's on a regular basis. (ya it's summer and the car is new) but had it been once, I wouldnt care so much.

Just annoying to clean the inside of the window everyday.

Thanks Jopa!

i had this happen to passenger side window also, not once like you said, but kept happening like it was rubbing on something, very annoying. I rolled window down and wiped the rubber/felt material down in area of smudge and also gently pried on that area with my fingers to give the the window more gap to roll up through, if that makes sense, no more smudge.
