Any one experienced this???

Today I just found out that my E90 makes squaking noise when I step on clutch and when release it. I had the same sound on my VW, but it was like 50K plus miles. My E90 has only 15K miles.

What do you think it is? The car drives fine, and shift fine...but the noise. And it is not noticable when the engine is on.

i had this problem in my boxster...never did figure it out. But it would go away after a few miles, so I never really pursued it. Does your squeeking disappear after awhile?

I just found it today, and the car drives fine. Since I was in very bad traffic today, it could be the cause. I will give it a week, and if the sound is still there..I will take it to the dealer.

Thanks for the quick response.

UPDATE. After letting the car has rest for a day (ride with wife to work), the noise is gone. I wonder what it was; it should be the heat.

I have a particular pair of shoes that make a squeaking noise with the clutch. No prob with different shoes. Try taking your shoe off the next time you hear it - worked for me.

It could also be some animal decided to crawl into the exposed part of the gearbox and it got "squak" as stated in your first thread. Some animal really like warmed location so they crawl in the eingine bay or those area under the car. anything is possible.
