535D or CLS370CDI or A6 S-Line 3.0 D

My father is just about to order his next car, he has shortlisted the above.

He already has a reasonably specc'd 530D, and now wants something shinier and a little better.

I know some of you will be biased, including myself, but any reccommendations or experiences on the above models?

I'm swaying him towards the 535D M sport, but that CLS looks so damn gorgeous, and a lot more executive than the 5 series.

Hopefully he will be treating the mother to her 3rd TT when the new RS version comes out, so he's not too bothered about outright performance as he can play with that on the weekends to satisfy the speed craving.

Cheers all!

If he already has a 530, then he wouldn't want a 535 if he wants something shinier and new.

The merc is a nice luxury car, might be worth a try over the 5.

A6 s-line has a good 3.0d engine, but drives like a dumper truck on concrete springs, not very executive if all your teeth have fallen out when you get to a meeting.

Agreed: like all VWs & Audis, the A6 is way too hard. The CLS looks very classy, but is driven by the older gentleman. The 535d will be the most satisfying to drive, especially if remapped, but I personally am not a huge fan of the way it looks.

Kind of nice to have such a dilemma, though...

Yeah, I wish I was in that position!

The Merc is a favourite, but so many reliability issues..............

I could tell him to spend my inheritance and get the CLS AMG haha

I didnt know the A6 was also a hard ride, thought it was just the A4 and A3. You'd think Audi would not follow that kind of ride harshness in their executive model?
